About the Acting Workshops

What: Acting Audition Preparation Workshops in association with the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland

When: Friday 9, 16 & 23 November 2018,  2-5pm (attendance at all three sessions is expected)

Please meet at 2pm in the main reception at Queen Margaret University (venue details below).

If you require permission to be out of school in order to attend these workshops, please confirm this in advance with your school.

These acting master classes will be led by Daniel Cameron, a tutor from the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland, and will focus on practical activities to help prepare you for future auditions. Wherever you plan to apply, these sessions will be relevant and will give you the opportunity to develop your skills, gain confidence and enhance your application to higher education.

Daniel Cameron trained as an actor at the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland, graduating in 2013. In 2016, he was awarded the BAFTA Scotland New Talent Award for Acting Performance for his role in the film I Am Me. As an actor he has worked with York Theatre Royal, Citizens Theatre, Oran Mor and Teatro Elsinor Milan. He has also written for BBC Radio Scotland with his short radio play The Ballad of Banjoy Moon being aired in 2017. Daniel teaches on a number of courses including Audition Preparation as part of the RCS Lifelong Learning courses, as well as being a Lecturer in Acting for the RCS Junior Conservatoire.

Who can apply?

To be eligible for this workshop, you need to be:

  • LEAPS eligible (click the link to view our eligibility criteria)
  • Submitting a UCAS application this year or applying to college, preferably for a course related to acting

Travel

Please see below for the public transport support we are offering to help you travel to and from this session.

Where a pupil registers for an event more than 5 working days beforehand; if requested, travel passes will be posted to your home address where possible or if we cannot easily send travel passes in advance, reimbursement will be provided at the event on production of a valid travel ticket/receipt.

Where a pupil registers for an event less than 5 working days beforehand; if requested, reimbursement will be provided at the event on production of a valid travel ticket/receipt (reimbursement could be in the form of a travel pass for future use or cash).
