Thurs 22 Nov, Teaching Information Session, 6-7.45pm

Where and when: Thursday 22 November, 6.00-7.45pm - University of Edinburgh, Central Campus, David Hume Tower, room LG 06

Aimed at: Any registered LEAPS volunteers are welcome to attend. The event is aimed at both those volunteers who are in their final year and thinking of applying for a postgraduate teaching course this year but equally those volunteers who are just contemplating teaching as one of the possible options after graduation.

What’s the format? It will be an informal evening where volunteers will get the chance to hear short presentations from university staff and a number of ex-LEAPS volunteers who have entered the world of teaching - both primary and secondary - after graduation. There will also be a chance for questions and informal chat with the speakers towards the end of the event.  Full details on the speakers will be listed here soon but the list below is intended to give you a good flavour of the event.

a) Staff from the University of Edinburgh's Admissions Department for the PGDE - covering the application and selection process for the PGDE and top tips for how to have a good interview!

b) A teacher who is currently in their probationary year following the PGDE and

c) Teachers in the first few years of their teaching career (primary and secondary)

How to sign up: Any interested volunteer should email leapsvolunteers@ed.ac.uk to book their place. We look forward to seeing you there!
