Higher education isn't a straightforward continuation of school. New undergraduates are expected to develop new learning techniques, whilst simultaneously trying to get to grips with the challenges of autonomous learning and self-motivation.

In this session, you get the chance to experience some aspects of learning and teaching at university for real.

After being introduced to some key ideas and skills, you have a lecture and tutorial on a particular topic - mirroring what you will likely encounter at university. Higher education staff and students will offer an insight into what you can expect from your student environment in first year, as well as strategies to help you make a successful start to your university career.

Led by staff from LEAPS, the University of Edinburgh and Edinburgh Napier.
