LEAPS Volunteering: Update

The LEAPS volunteering programme normally takes place between November and March each year. Unfortunately, due to ongoing Covid-19 mitgations in our Secondary Schools it won't be possible for us to take groups of Student Volunteers from local universities into schools to help deliver workshops in November or December, as we have done in previous years. However, we are hopeful that we will be able to resume workshops in schools from January to April and invite LEAPS Student Volunteers to help facilitate these sessions as they have done in the past. This is, of course, subject to Scottish Government and Local Authority Covid guidelines.  If you are interested in volunteering with LEAPS from January-April 2022 we would encourage you to read the information below and also to revisit these web pages in mid-November where you will find updated information on how to get involved in our training opportunities taking place from December. If you have any queries in the meantime please feel free to contact the LEAPS Volunteer Team on leapsvolunteers@ed.ac.uk.

If you are a registered LEAPS volunteer we will be in touch with you by email in mid-November to let you know how to re-register as a LEAPS Volunteer for 2022, should you wish to do so.

If you are new to LEAPS volunteering but keen to get involved, you would need to take part in LEAPS Volunteer Training. This doesn't commit you to volunteering – it's more a case of taking part to see if you think it's the kind of volunteer opportunity you are looking for. Our next Volunteer Training opportunties will take place from December 2021.  Please check back here Join Us  in mid-November for an update on how you can get invovled with LEAPS Volunteer Training in December.
