There is no formal registration process for LEAPS until students are in S6 (or S5 if a student is leaving school at the end of S5).When students are in S6 (or S5 if a student is leaving school at the end of S5), students who may be LEAPS eligible will be invited to a LEAPS Pre-UCAS Interview in autumn. It is at this point that a student’s LEAPS eligibility is checked and, once confirmed, they are formally recorded with LEAPS via our dedicated online system. Individualised information, advice, and guidance is also provided at this interview to support students to make strong and strategic applications to higher education study.It is vital that LEAPS eligibility is confirmed (with LEAPS) at this point so that it can be highlighted to universities at the point of applying to higher education.
